（英文）The most beautiful garden in England

I have just visited my favourite garden in all of England. The Sissinghurst garden was once private, but is now open to the public because it is owned by the National Trust, a charity that looks after natural and cultural treasures.
The garden was developed from a ruined ancient farmhouse in the 1920s by Sir Harold Nicolson, a diplomat and author and Vita Sackville-West a poet and garden writer.
The garden was inspired by the new English styles developed by William Robinson and Gertrude Jeykle, such as perennial borders with artistic colour combinations and a loose, naturalistic use of plants. But it is special because Vita Sackville-West created some very beautiful planting designs. It is difficult to keep many plants in flower in an English garden into early Autumn but all the garden spaces at Sissinghurst were brimming with colour. The famous white garden, where all the plants have white in their leaves or flowers was still looking beautiful and showed how white flowers help you appreciate all the shades of green in plant leaves.
I also liked the use of materials. Local brick and stone were both used in different combinations to create formal or informal paths.
Under some shrubs I spotted the Autumn crocus. Despite the beautiful weather we have been having, it means that cold weather is not far away.

英国で私が気に入っている庭に行ってきました。シシングハーストはかつては私有でしたが、今は自然文化遺産を管理するナショナルトラストが所有し、一般に公開されています。

この庭は、外交官そして文筆家であったSir Harold　Nicolson　と　詩人そして庭のライターであった　Ｖita Sackville-Ｗest　によって荒廃した古い農家から発展しました。

庭は、多年草の芸術的な配色そしてゆるい野性的な植栽などをもたらした　Ｗilliam Robinson そしてＧertrude Jeykleが作り上げた新英国風に感化されたものです。

秋の始めに英国の庭で多くの花々を咲かせるのは難しいのですが、ここシシングハーストではすべての庭空間では色があふれんばかりでした。よく知られている白の庭はすべての植物は葉か花が白いのですが、この時期でもまだ美しく、いかに白い花が葉の緑の色合いを堪能するのに一役かっているかを印象付けました。

また私はこの庭の素材の使い方も好きでした。地元のレンガと石の両方が違った組み合わせで使われて正式なまた非正式な小道を作り上げていました。

潅木の下に秋のクロッカスを見つけました。ここ最近美しい気候に恵まれているにもかかわらず、寒い天気はすぐそこまで来ているということでしょう。
